2011 Annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament
Our "TEE OFF with the TROOPS" Golf Tournament was a tremendous success! Over 100 golfers and 16 active duty soldiers had a splendid day playing golf. Many of the soldiers had never played before, but when LTC McAfee asked for volunteers to stay behind for a special assignment while the rest of the plane went back to Afghanistan, THEY STEPPED FORWARD. They were not told what they had volunteered to do until the next day, when in the pre-dawn hours, they were unloaded at Riverchase Golf Club in the quaint suburb of Coppell, Texas. The stunned soldiers, in full fatigues, were relived (then concerned about their golfing performance), then relieved again to find we had a fabulous day planned for them.
